Actually, the ideal for our analysis is to find a balance of BOTH ⚖.
If it is true that the technical-tactical performance may prevail, but it will depend entirely on the mood or emotional state of our team. It is useless to us that we have trained very well and have prepared ourselves for the game if there is a bad atmosphere or lack of concentration on the part of our players.
We will analyze each of the options:
- On one hand, we have the emotional performance. It is defined as the attitude or desire that each player puts into their performances when they practice the sport and compete. A good example of an athlete with a strong emotional output is the famous tennis player Rafa Nadal. In high-level situations and when the physical does not give for more, Rafa always gives 110% thanks to his concentration and impetus.
- On the other hand, we have technical-tactical performance. It refers to the quality + knowledge that athletes have. He is the player who is clear about all the formations, movements, behavior of the rivals, etc. A good example is Xavi Hernandez, a true “coconut”. When he played and had a mark of a footballer of 1.85m, physically superior to him, Xavi always managed to NOT steal the ball from him. He just understood and anticipated every situation in the game.
Although the speed of the game is very important and the knowledge of the emotional player lags behind, it may also be that in another situation, the emotional player performs better and comes back in the last moments after a goal in the 85th minute.
You can't choose both. You have to find a BALANCE. From FutbolLab we assure you that BOTH are totally important and therefore, both options must be prepared and trained. Prioritize and keep analyzing, but above all, enjoy the game!
Here we leave you the video where Jordi Gómez, director of FutbolLab, tells us more about the subject 💪🏼
